We’re moving full speed ahead with transplant prep, and we’ve had a few important updates this week.
On the donor side, I completed my full labs and physical exam. They ran extensive testing (15 vials of blood) to make sure I’m healthy enough to move forward and confirmed I’ll need a central line for the donation process.
While I was there, I met another donor who was going through a donation with a central line. He told me it wasn’t as bad as he expected, which was reassuring. I’ve also been part of some social media groups with others going through this process, and that’s been helpful as well.
On Cindy’s side, we’re focused on getting her home ready so it’s as safe and manageable as possible when she returns after transplant. With support from your generous donations, we had the carpet professionally steam cleaned and got her dishwasher installed after some delays — we needed both a plumber and an electrician to fix a few things before it could be put in, but it’s finally done.
Next, we’re working on getting some shelving in place and doing a full declutter to help organize the kids’ toys and make the space easier to maintain day to day. Those items are on the Amazon wish list if anyone would like to support in that way.
We’re continuing to take this step by step — getting everything in place so Cindy can focus on healing when she comes home.
If you’ve been following along, thank you. The support, messages, and check-ins continue to mean a lot to all of us.
