CINDY’S CANCER UPDATE: Unexpected Relapse and Transplant Delay

Unfortunately, Cindy’s latest PET scan showed a small new area of cancer. CAR-T cleared the original spots, but this appeared quickly, which shows how aggressive this disease is.

Because of this, her doctors are delaying the transplant while she undergoes more treatment to get back into full remission.

I’ll still donate my cells next week — they’ll be cryopreserved until she’s ready.

We don’t have a clear timeline yet. The next phase will likely include some combination of immunotherapy, chemo, and radiation.

In the meantime, we’ve been focused on making her home safer and easier to manage. I traveled out last week to help declutter — clearing out old toys and unnecessary items so surfaces can be cleaned more easily and the space is more manageable day-to-day. Our mom and her partner helped with multiple trips to the dump and the recycling center.

Using donated funds, we’ve added storage (cube organizers and a pantry cabinet), installed a dishwasher, and set up HEPA filters and the Litter-Robot. These are already helping reduce exposure risk and make daily life more manageable while she’s immunocompromised.

As she goes through this next round of treatment, she’ll continue to need help with cleaning, food delivery, and prepared meals.

We’re still working toward funding a full deep clean and ongoing weekly cleanings, and we have an Amazon wish list if you’d like to help.

Thank you for continuing to support Cindy — it continues to ease the burden of the unexpected challenges of navigating this disease.
